Restraint before explanation
URBANE has worked from Taichung since 2004, bringing interior architecture, design, and construction into one practice. The website begins with the same economy. A full-screen film, widely spaced wordmark, and two quiet navigation points create a threshold before any service description appears. The opening does not compete with the rooms; it lets scale, light, and material establish the tone first.
That restraint continues on the About page. A single proposition sits above an expansive image, followed by the studio's principles of spatial discipline, quiet permanence, constructed precision, and material integrity. Generous spacing gives each statement room to register, while bilingual copy remains part of one composition rather than becoming a secondary layer.
The portfolio behaves like an index, not a gallery
Dozens of private and public projects need more than an image wall. The archive establishes a consistent reading order, then lets each project retain its own atmosphere. On desktop, a disciplined two-column field creates comparison without visual noise. On mobile, the same work becomes a deliberate single-file sequence with no loss of image scale or hierarchy.
Inside each project, an editorial title opens over the lead image before a vertical photograph and a factual rail introduce the developer, services, area, and year. Portrait and landscape frames then alternate through the story. The system stays recognisable, but the rhythm belongs to the architecture being shown.
