We are thrilled to announce the launch of Shopify Dev MasterClass — a comprehensive, community-driven learning platform dedicated to helping developers master modern Shopify development with the power of AI-assisted tooling.

Our Mission​

The Shopify ecosystem is evolving rapidly. Between Hydrogen, Oxygen, the Storefront API, Shopify Functions, and the ever-expanding Admin API, keeping up with best practices can feel overwhelming. Our mission is simple: make every Shopify developer more productive by combining deep platform knowledge with cutting-edge AI development tools.

We believe that the combination of Claude Code, the Model Context Protocol (MCP), and thoughtful development workflows represents a paradigm shift in how Shopify apps and storefronts are built. This site exists to document, teach, and share those techniques with the broader community.

What Makes This Different​

There is no shortage of Shopify tutorials on the internet. So why build another resource? Here is what sets Shopify Dev MasterClass apart:

AI-First Development Workflows​

Every tutorial and guide on this site is written with AI-assisted development in mind. We do not just show you how to build a Shopify app — we show you how to build it faster and with fewer errors using Claude Code as your pair programmer. You will learn how to leverage MCP servers to give Claude direct access to your Shopify store data, enabling workflows that were simply not possible a year ago.

Real-World, Production-Tested Patterns​

Our content is grounded in real production experience. We cover the patterns and pitfalls that only surface when you are building for actual merchants with real traffic. From webhook reliability to rate-limit management, from metafield strategies to checkout extensibility, we tackle the problems that matter in production.

End-to-End Coverage​

We cover the full Shopify development lifecycle:

  • Store setup and configuration using the Admin API and CLI
  • Theme development with Liquid, Dawn, and Online Store 2.0

Community-Driven​

This is not a one-person blog. We welcome contributions from developers of all experience levels. Whether you have a tip for optimizing GraphQL queries against the Storefront API or a full tutorial on building a custom checkout UI extension, we want to hear from you.

How to Contribute​

We have designed this project to make contributing as straightforward as possible:

  1. Fork the repository on GitHub.
  2. Create a new branch for your content or fix.
  3. Write your content using Markdown in the appropriate directory — docs/ for guides, blog/ for posts.
  4. Submit a pull request with a clear description of your contribution.
  5. Our maintainers will review and provide feedback, typically within 48 hours.

We also welcome contributions in the form of bug reports, feature requests, and discussion threads. If you have spotted an error in a code sample or have an idea for a topic we should cover, open an issue and let us know.
